Playlists I Have Made.

I listen to lots of different kinds of music. I'm still glad I listen to the music I do. I am informed that Sp*tify is also a "network" that doesn't really allow for meaningful interaction with other users, so I will include links to these playlists.

1. Death // Sentence

Not a playlist of my own curation, but rather my own collecting of some of the songs played on the Death // Sentence podcast. It's a podcast about metal, books and politics. They usually play two metal or metal-adjacent songs on each episode. I've collected all the songs I've heard on the podcast, which is harder to figure out for the older episodes (the song titles weren't in the show notes). I'm working my way through the back catologue so adding new (old?) songs as I hear them. It's a good playlist because the show is steadfastly anti-fascist, so there isn't gonna be some NSBM-bullshit.

Highlights

The song Ablation of Subconcious by Xythlia rips so hard! Maybe I do like grindcore after all.

2. Last Christmas

Yep, that song. Turns out I like it! And there's quite a few covers of it too. There's definitely more that I don't have on my playlist, but the 7 or 8 versions I have is enough for me. and definitely more than enough for my roommate.

Highlights

Which "Last Christmas" do I like best? Carly Rae Jepsen for sure!

3. Pandemic playlists

"Hey, why am I feeling sad all the time?"

"Is it because your main playlist is full of sad songs?"

"There's only two versions of Kyoto by Phoebe Bridgers here..."

Highlights

Take your pick, Kyoto, Kyoto or the other secret Kyoto that I don't have on the playlist.

4. I do not listen to country music.

Except for Orville Peck, and Taylor Swift, and Kacey Musgraves and that one song about Country Roads.
